If you want to have great fishing trip in Mexico, you must choose the right bass lure.  Choosing the wrong ones can ruin your whole trip, especially if there is not a place nearby where you can find better ones.  Here I want to share with you the lures you must include if you are planning to go fishing in Mexico.

Plastic worms. This is a classic bass lure that works all around the World, an evolution of the worms used in previous generations. Nowadays you can find them in different sizes, colors and styles.  When I go bass fishing in Mexico, I always make sure to include plenty of these, as big basses just love them. Mix sizes, colors, experiment and have fun.  A neat trick with them is to add a little weight to the worm to control it when luring the bass.

Spinnerbaits. These lures are very attractive to bass and they work in any speed or depth.  I used some of these on my recent trip to Lake Baccarac, and I really can’t complain, they are just very versatile and can be used in different situations.  Test different colors depending on the lake you are.

Swimbaits. These lures are used mostly by trophy bass fishing anglers.  Why? They are perfect to catch the really big boys on the lake.  They look like fishes, usually a minnow.  Be sure to pack some of them in case you want to catch record-breaking bass.

Crankbaits. What can I say? They are classic, versatile and a must-have in any bass fishing trip.  These baits have the appearance of little fishes, or in the eyes of bass, delicious food!

Bass jig. I always made sure to include these baits on my tackle box because they are perfect to catch bass around ledges and rock piles.  Very easy to use and to find, and they come in a variety of styles and sizes.  Like the rest of baits, mix them to accommodate your needs in the lake.

One of the most popular destinations for Mexico bass fishing trips has to be Lake Baccarac. The 25 miles long and 5 miles wide lake was stocked with a strain of Florida largemouth bass back in the year 1978, and since then it has remained as one of the favorite lakes to catch some big bass! This is a trophy largemouth bass fishing lake and is considered one of the best of its kind in the entire World.
